Operator Chmury Krajowa choses VMware as a key supplier of elements of the technology stack, based on which it will provide the most advanced cloud services on the Polish market. The VMware partner that will provide technology and services is Comtegra S.A.
Operator Chmura Krajowej decided to use advanced VMware tools due to the high flexibility that will allow any company to go through the process of digital transformation without any problems. The selected cloud and virtualization solutions relieve IT departments in the area of operational activities so that they can focus on creating new solutions for end customers.
On the basis of purchased licenses, it is possible to provide IaaS, PaaS, CaaS (infrastructure as a service, platform as a service, container as a service) as well as to offer hybrid cloud services. The customers of Oparator Chmury Krajowej will be able to use:
The complete SDDC (Software-Defined Data Center) architecture purchased from VMware: virtualization of computing power, disk subsystems, security mechanisms, automation and monitoring of cloud environments, is used to build the most advanced hybrid cloud, which may include private environments (dedicated to the one company) and public (shared by many clients).
The foundation of the Operator Chmury Krajowej offer, which will be available to its clients, is the latest version of the comprehensive platform for running and managing a hybrid cloud – VMware Cloud Foundation. This is a comprehensive set of services that allow quick launch of defined servers and multi-cloud environments with applications running on them in a single, seamless process (model Infrastructure as a Code). Such a process, based on physical infrastructure, usually takes several months. Supporting it with technological solutions OChK and VMware will allow to start using IT services even within several dozen minutes. Research has shown that VMware Cloud Foundation guarantees up to 15 times shorter time to launch the cloud by eliminating complex processes related to designing, testing, running and configuring the system, and allocating resources.
Preparing to launch the services for Oparator Chmury Krajowej, we very carefully analyzed the needs of our future clients. While choosing the key technology, we were guided by the possibility of offering various services to companies that decide to cooperate with us. On the one hand, selected to facilitate the optimization of costs for those who already use cloud solutions and on the other hand to facilitate the transformation for those who still use their own IT resources. Our analyzes have shown that VMware software will allow us to achieve these goals – said Michał Potoczek, President of the Management Board of Operator Chmura Krajowej, during the summary meeting of the contract.
We are glad that thanks to cooperation with OChK Polish companies will be able to introduce digital innovations faster and more effectively, improve safety and efficiency, while reducing operating costs. It is possible because the offer of Operator Chmury Krajowej offers a technological revolution based on the vision of “software-defined everything”. I am convinced that our cooperation will be beneficial not only for us and for OChK, but also for a large part of the Polish economy, which will boldly enter the world of cloud computing – says Stanisław Bochnak, chief business strategist at VMware Polska. It is important while facing growing consumer needs and the ever-stronger market struggle, enterprises must invest in innovation quick enough to secure their “today” and “tomorrow”. The drive that guarantees this speed is cloud computing. And what is important for Polish entrepreneurs – it is a Polish cloud computing – he adds.
For the implementation of VMware technology stack elements in the data centers of Oprator Chmury Krajowej will be responsible, Comtegra SA, a long-term technology partner of VMware, will be responsible. This is not the first public cloud construction project in our company’s portfolio. We took part in the construction of dozens of private clouds, and the last success is the project of building a comprehensive Disaster Recovery Center for the Ministry of Finance completed a month ago. The project assumed the deployment and integration of storage systems for as well as Disaster Recovery solutions for key business systems of the Ministry of Finance – said after signing Piotr Jelski, CEO, Comtegra S.A.
As part of the signed agreement, Operator Chmury Krajowej, in addition to multi-cloud services, will also provide its clients with VMware solutions in the perpetual license model, allowing for virtualization of mass storage (vSAN, HCI), security solutions (NSX) and center management data (vCenter). In the future, the National Cloud Operator plans to expand the portfolio of services with new VMware products, innovative on the Polish market.
